Parents & Citizens Association
The Beaumaris P&C is an active and vital partner to school support and development. The P&C is both a fund raising group as well as an informal forum in sharing parent views and school happenings. The Association is affiliated with the Western Australian Council of State School Associations (WACSSO) and as such is an incorporated body with official status and organisational structure. The P&C is governed by its elected executive office bearers, consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Fund Raising Coordinator and Principal, as ex officio officer. It has a constitution and operational manifesto that legitimates its operations and functions which include:
- fund raising
- a tax deductible Building Fund
- canteen operation
- employer
- function and events management
- voluntary support and participation in classroom and school programs
Formal matters raised within the P&C forum concerning school matters are referred to the school governing body, the Beaumaris School Council. The P&C has a representative on the Council ensuring ease of communication and expedient management of issues.
As a body of parents, the P&C has the interest of students, staff and the school community in general at heart. Over the years it has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for projects and improvements, as well as contributing many hours of volunteer support time. Examples include:
- stage, lights, curtains and props to the assembly area
- pergolas around the school
- up-grades to grounds including new turf, limestone walls, beautification
- playground equipment
- computers for class rooms and sports equipment
- end of school year Book prizes
- badges for Endeavour Awards
- Performing Arts facilities
- computer and SmartBoard technology
- resources for Learning Areas
In addition the P&C is also a friendly social gathering which has held many fun events in encouraging family get togethers and simply ‘getting to know each other’ within the community. Examples include: The Amazing Race car rally; Welcome BBQ for new families; Christmas in July; Quiz nights; fetes and Fairs; busy bees; competitions; and School Discos.
These are but a few and we are always looking to have new and existing parents participate on the P&C for fresh ideas. At our meetings we are always given up-dates by the school’s Administration team on many and varying subjects. It’s a forum to find out more about our school. Come along to one of our meetings and join a happy and busy team who work and play together. It is also a great way to make good friends. Contact the office for more information. Come along and help us help our children. The P&C meets in week 3 and 8 of each term.

P&C Building Fund
Many years ago the P&C set up a Building Fund with the Australian Taxation Office in order that cash donations (over $2.00) are claimable a TAX DEDUCTION. This Building fund is used to improve and build new school structures. Each year we ask families for a $60.00 donation. This is separate to School Fees. For more information regarding the Building Fund, you inquire at the School Office or come along to our next P&C Meeting.
