Performances

An important aspect of our Special Programs is the opportunity for students to show their skills and talents and for parents to understand and appreciate the investment we make as part of holistic education.  At Beaumaris we take great pride in our performance, with staff volunteering many additional hours in preparation and presentation.  The school community holds these events in high esteem as it adds great status to the school.  Our special exhibitions and performances are widely acclaimed both within and without our community.

Opportunities

Classroom Assemblies

Each class is expected to present two assemblies per year, inviting parents to come along and share the entertainment and children’s pleasure.

Joondalup Festival Street Parade

Student form either Middle or Senior Sub Schools coordinate their integrated learning themes in Term One to culminate in a colourful and energetic display at the Joondalup Festival, which students have won in the past.

Concert and Theatre

These are whole school theatrical or musical performances, over three evenings and are held every 2-3 years.  They may be in the form of theatre (such as Oliver) or musical (such as the LOTE Carnivale theme in 2005) and take up the whole evening.

Art Exhibition

Our Art Extravaganza is a special week, held every 2 years, commencing on Open Night, displaying the many talents and outstanding works by students from across the whole school.  This exhibition is something out of the box, the best in Australia.

Visual arts are also regularly on display in the office and on the school web site.

Musical Soirees

The Soirees offer an opportunity for our musical students to share their talent in a night of musical tapestry.  Performances include our four choirs, two instrumental bands, performing theatre group and the senior rock band.  These events are held every 1-2 years.

Open Night

Open Night offers parents an opportunity to visit classrooms and share student work and art.  It is an informal evening where students chaperon their parents.

Community Performances

At times various musical choirs and groups visit sections of the community to perform or participate in competitions as further opportunities to show their talent and hone up skills.  They are enjoyed by both students and audiences alike.

Many extra hours are put in by students and staff alike to make all these possible.  But the pleasure shown and end result make them all worthwhile.  Collectively they enhance school reputation and underline the reason for Beaumaris being a ‘High Demand Government School.’
