Farewell Anna!

With Mrs Prosper concluding her role as Canteen Coordinator this term, we wish to acknowledge her contribution to school life over many years. The P&C and whole school community are extremely grateful for the time, initiative and dedication Anna has given to Beaumaris. She has been a tireless worker and loyal employee of the P&C. We are all indebted to her. Her leadership and innovative ideas oversaw the implementation of the health 'Traffic Light' menu, with lots of fun and pride in our canteen. Anna's great sense of humour and enthusiasm will be missed, however, Anna will remain a 'friend of the school' forever and we wish her all the best for the future.

WA Symphony Orchestra Members visit Beaumaris!

Four members of WASO visited Beaumaris on Thursday 28 July, as part of the WASO 'On the Road Tour' for schools. They took the Senior Instrumental Band for a special workshop, as well as other instrumental workshops and performances. These included explanationsof instruments, types of music and the orchestra, as well as performances showcasing some modern pieces and the favourite, 'Peter and the Wolf.' Everyone loved the opportunity to share music with such professional and skilful musicians. One session was videoconferenced to our three Hub Schools in the Mid West Region: Coorow; Perenjori and Three Springs. This was not only a hit with all students, but with the musicians as well, who were new to the experience. It certainly was a great way for our students and our Mid West friends to share a great show and interact together!

Congratulations Mrs Eve, School Patron Award! - April 2011

Each year the school community nominates outstanding contributors to our school, via the P&C. The School Patron Award is given to those community members who have volunteered, supported and promoted school development, projects and environment over many years. The award is acknowledgement of these efforts and positive improvements in school facilities, culture and learning outcomes.

We are extremely pleased that this year the Award has been made to Mrs Maree Eves. Maree has been involved in a range of school community activities as well as in school contributions beyond the call of duty. These include: years of 'busy bee projects'; P&C executive roles; P&C Committees; Fund Raisers; community coordinator; special functions; school promotions and recently, the re-branding of our school and uniform, to name a few.

Maree has been the 'engine room' of our school community, forever exploring new ideas, ventures and ways to improve anything that in turn would improve our school and community. She is indeed the epitome of the 'Beaumaris School Spirit.' We have all benefited from her enthusiasm, energy and unselfish contributions.

Mrs Maree Eve is a thoroughly deserving recipient of the School Patron Award!
