About Beaumaris Primary School
Beaumaris Primary School was established in 1991 and is situated 25 kilometres to the north of Perth in the coastal suburb of Ocean Reef. The school provides educational facilities for children aged four to twelve years. The school's boundaries range from Hodges Drive to the south, Burns Beach Road to the north and Marmion Avenue to the east. This includes the areas of Beaumaris, Ocean Reef, Iluka and Burns Beach, an optional area. Being a 'High Demand Government School' we have many requests for out of area enrolments, which we also accept subject to capacity.
The majority of the school's students are born in Australia, but a significant number of families are from the United Kingdom, South Africa and Asia, being attracted to the school by its outstanding reputation locally, nationally and abroad. The multicultural nature of the school is reflected by family backgrounds covering many nations.
The school is a merit select school with more than seventy experienced teaching and non teaching staff. Leadership experiences are provided to staff through a range of professional development and other opportunities. Key administrative portfolios include Curriculum, Student Services and Facilities and Services. Specialist areas are the Arts, Physical Education, Information Communication & Technology, Languages Other Than English (LOTE).
A supportive School Council continues to help shape future directions and policies for continued improvement. Many other parent opportunities are offered through representation on various school committees and special programs.
The school has a well equipped Administration building, Library, Arts Room, Information and Computer Technology and Multi Media Laboratory, a Performing Arts Centre with Music/Green Room/stage, an undercover assembly area, a Hall (containing a LOTE room, small conference room/uniform shop) and a modern canteen. Both grounds and buildings are aesthetically attractive, with significant input and development made by the Parents and Citizens' Association over the years.
The school is organised into three sub schools: Junior (Kindergarten - Year 3); Middle (Years 4/5); and Senior (Years 6/7). Lifelong Learning and Middle Schooling strategies and cultures are adopted in the senior and middle years. Each of these is comprised of composite year groupings, where students remain with teachers for two years, promoting stronger relationships and rapport. Collaborative sub school planning time for teachers has been scheduled to support these initiatives.
Our 'School Dress Code' is fully supported with 100% of students in uniform.
The major reasons for Beaumaris Primary School being a High Demand school are the extensive programs which cater for individual needs, promote values and acknowledges and rewards excellence and effort. These include: the Endeavour and Achiever award programs; Faction spirit & competition; public presentations in the Arts; student support programs such as Rock and Water, mentoring, peer tutoring, BWELL, PEAC, Anti Bullying, and parent volunteer programs, as well as special rewards and incentives with camps, performances and leadership programs.
The community sees Beaumaris as a very innovative and dynamic school with a sense of School Spirit that is inclusive, welcoming and caring. Staff, students and the whole school community take great pride in their school.
