Beaumaris School Board
As an Independent Public School, Beaumaris demonstrates its accountability for the quality of its school environment and the standards of student learning to the School Board.
The Board is comprised of community members and staff who oversee, support and assist the school in its strategic targets and delivery of education services. The Principal reports to the Board, regularly. The Principal and the Board enter into a Performance Delivery Agreement, with the Director General of Education, for the delivery of education as outlined in the Beaumaris Primary School strategic and business plans.
The Beaumaris School Board is the formal governing body, working with staff in school development, policy development and ratification of operational and accountability requirements. The Board is also the formal community voice in addressing community needs, concerns and suggestions about the school. Matters of teaching - learning relationships and curriculum remain the professional responsibility of the teaching staff.
Board Structure
The Board comprises of community representatives, staff representatives and the principal as executive officer. Representatives are elected to Board by their corresponding constituents. Some are elected for two years and others for one to maintain succession planning. Other members may be co-opted from both community and school. Its formal structure offers a businesslike forum to deal matters of education delivery and importance that ultimately lead to improving student outcomes and the school's good standing.
BPS School Board Minutes
The Board meets regularly each term and minutes are made public to the community.
